The Baby Smart Pad is a flat, tablet-shaped music toy for a child of twelve months and up. Five wide coloured keys run across the front, each one printed with a different animal playing a different instrument, and a sun, clouds and two birds fill the picture above them.
Why this music pad works for a one-year-old
- Five keys, each wide enough for a whole palm rather than one fingertip.
- Every key carries its own animal and its own instrument: a monkey with a guitar, a cow at a xylophone, a giraffe with a trumpet, a cat on a drum and a bear with maracas.
- One round power button sits below the keys, so there is a single thing to press to stop it.
- The pad is flat and rigid with rounded corners, so a toddler can hold it two-handed or lay it on the floor and kneel over it.
- Demo batteries are already fitted for the Try Me window, so it makes a sound the moment the box is open.
- Nothing detaches and nothing has to be clipped on before play.
