The Die-Cast Car Set is a tray of 1:64 scale sports cars in zinc alloy, for children of three and up. They are heavy for their size, and the liveries are printed straight onto the metal rather than stuck on as decals. Push one and it rolls on by itself.
Why this die-cast set works for a growing collection
- Zinc alloy bodies with plastic bases — they are cold and heavy in the hand in a way a moulded plastic car never is.
- 1:64 scale, printed on the box front, which is the scale most die-cast cars already in the toy box are built to, so they park together.
- Every car carries a different livery: a blue AZURE number 56 racer, a yellow and a silver supercar, a green saloon, an orange, a red and more.
- Inertia driven — push a car across the floor and it keeps rolling, with nothing to wind, charge or switch on.
- The red tray lifts out of the sleeve, which the box calls detachable, so the cars have somewhere to go back to.
- Each car sits nose-first in its own moulded slot, six to a tier, which makes a missing one obvious at tidy-up time.
