Boom Boom Drums is a flat, tablet-shaped drum pad for a child of twelve months and up. The face is printed as a whole kit, five drums and two cymbals laid out around a monkey holding the sticks, and a row of five round buttons sits along the bottom edge.
Why this drum pad works for a one-year-old
- Five drums and two cymbals are printed across the face, each a separate area big enough to hit with a flat hand.
- Two of the five buttons are volume up and volume down, so the toy can be turned down rather than only turned off.
- A star button and a music note button sit beside them: the box says a child can play drum solos or hit along with the music already on the toy.
- The pad is flat and rigid with rounded corners, so it works on the floor or carried two-handed.
- Demo batteries are already fitted behind the Try Me window, so it makes a sound as soon as the box is open.
- Nothing clips on and there are no sticks to lose, because the hands are the sticks.
