The Velocity Remote Control Helicopter is a radio-controlled helicopter with a main rotor, a stabiliser bar above it and a small tail rotor, marked 14+ on the box. Five capabilities are printed as icons along the front: altitude hold, one-key take off and landing, speed change, gyroscope and emergency stop.
Why this helicopter works for an older child
- Altitude hold is the first of the five icons: the helicopter holds its own height rather than needing constant throttle correction.
- One-key take off and landing is the second - a single button handles both ends of the flight.
- A gyroscope icon and a plain STOP roundel for emergency stop sit alongside, so the rotor can be cut from the handset.
- The main rotor carries a stabiliser bar above it, which is what keeps a helicopter this size level in the air.
- The back of the box shows the same helicopter in two colourways, so the colour is not fixed.
- Nothing about a camera appears anywhere on the box - this one flies, it does not record.
Good to know before you buy

- Colour two colourways are pictured and the box does not mark which one is inside
- Assembly the box prints simple to fit, but it never says which parts fit together
- Cleaning wipe with a damp cloth
- Box name the front is titled Remote Control Plane, while the toy pictured and the shop label are both a helicopter
- Not printed on the panels we photographed a choking hazard warning, the size, the flight time or a contents list
Buttons says these go together
That didn't go through. Try again, or add them one at a time.
