The Hawk XK912 Helicopter is a long-tailed remote control helicopter marked 14+ on the box, and it charges over USB. Three icons run down the left-hand edge: cool lights, USB charging and infrared control. The box photographs show it lit from inside, standing on a pair of skids under the body.
Why this helicopter works for a teenager
- It charges over USB, which is the second of the three icons on the box front, so there is nothing loose to feed it.
- Infrared control is the third icon, so the handset talks to it by light rather than by radio.
- Coloured lights sit inside the body and show in every photograph the box prints.
- The box names three flight behaviours: takeoff and landing with steady ascent and descent, a stable gyroscope, and the appearance design.
- The tail boom is long and braced, with a vertical fin and a tail rotor on the end, and the body sits on two landing skids.
- The end panel has tick boxes for four models - XK912, XK912X, XK913X and XK913H - and the shop label says this one is the XK912.
