The Remote Control Robot is an orange and white robot with light-up eyes that walks and moves its arms, steered not by a joystick but by a wearable remote control watch, for children of three and up. Its head, body and arms are all moulded plastic.
Why this robot works for hands-on play
- It is steered from a remote control watch worn on the wrist, not a handheld joystick.
- The eyes light up - one of three features printed as icons on the box, alongside the watch remote and a program mode.
- The arms are jointed at the shoulder and elbow, so the robot can move them as it walks.
- The robot runs on 4 AG13 button batteries, which come included and fit into a marked compartment.
- The watch runs on its own CR2032 button battery, separate from the robot.
- The box warns not to aim the robot at eyes or face, a sign the lights are brighter than a toy nightlight.
