The Sewing Machine & Iron Play Set pairs a toy sewing machine with a toy iron for children of three and over, so pretend dressmaking and pretend ironing happen side by side. Both pieces have a working on/off switch and light up when switched on.
Why this set works for pretend dressmakers
- The sewing machine has a hand wheel that turns and a light that switches on, with a small fabric swatch held under the needle area for the simulated stitching action.
- A workbox opens on the machine, matching the "open the workbox" function printed on the box.
- The iron has its own on/off switch, a light, and a vibration action that simulates pressing and a spray of water.
- Both pieces are moulded in matching pink plastic with a soft rounded shape sized for small hands.
- Neither piece produces real heat, real steam or a real needle — the stitching and ironing actions are simulated.
